Before you set off across Swedish Lapland with a pulk, you first need to get there, of course. The King’s Trail starts in Abisko, in the far north of Sweden. You can fly via Kiruna, take the night train from Stockholm or combine several modes of transport. Which option best suits your travel plans? Where does your Kungsleden adventure begin?<\/h2> \t

For The King’s Trail <\/a>, you\u2019ll travel to Abisko Turiststation<\/strong>, the starting point for your winter trek with a pulk. Your trek ends in Nikkaluokta, so your outbound and return journeys won\u2019t follow exactly the same route.<\/p>\n

Abisko doesn\u2019t have its own airport. If you fly, you\u2019ll usually travel via Kiruna and continue from there to the trailhead. By train, you can travel directly to Abisko Turiststation. If you have some extra time, the journey north can become part of the adventure too.<\/p><\/div>\n\t

Flying to Kiruna and continuing to Abisko<\/h2> \t

Flying via Kiruna is the fastest way to reach northern Sweden. From Brussels or Amsterdam, you\u2019ll usually fly to Kiruna Airport<\/strong> with a connection at Stockholm Arlanda. Abisko is about 100 kilometres from the airport.<\/p>\n
